Here are some comments from those who attended:
From Don & MaryAnn Acamo:
What a great party. This party was one of the best over the last few years. So many came, and was so fun to talk with many that we have not seen in a long time. Wish there was a way that we could do this get together twice a year. The room was set up very nicely giving everyone a place to sit and be able to share with others.
There were 2 tables of delicious food and desserts, which has always been one of Hikanbykes top things that the club is noted for.
Diane did a lot of work to make this happen and provide the atmosphere where all of us felt so happy to be there. A big thanks to all of you that stayed and helped Diane clean up. Can't forget Niels who provided a nice place to make this Holiday a big success.
It was so cold and foggy when we left W.C. and when we arrived the sun shined the whole time.
One of the best Holiday parties we have had in a long time.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to our Hikanbyke family.
From David Weiner:
Part way thru the event I stopped taking pix and simply chatted with all the guests.
The event has become a real tradition. Trust we left the facility adequately clean. Was good to start at this earlier time. Believe turnout increased because of this. I appreciated all your efforts to make it happen.

Spirit Ship
FROM Don & MaryAnn Acamo:
We all had a great time attended by 14 Hikanbykers. They all talked of old times and what they were doing and plans ahead. Lots of laughter and all stayed outside till 10pm. There were lots of sundaes made from the many goodies that were brought and also Root Beer floats.
Show here are Ellen & Orrel having a good time.
MaryAnn and I want to thank all who cane. It was so nice to see everyone with smiles on their faces and laughter from all around.

FROM Don Acamo:
It was a delightful Sunday and everyone seemed to have a very enjoyable time.

FROM DIANE SAVARD:
We had 15 Hikanbykers show up for the Albany Bulb Walk.
The Albany Bulb is a former construction debris landfill on San Francisco Bay where people have been making informal outdoor sculptures and paintings for decades. It is home to 150 species of birds, huge trees, wildflowers, amazing views, and lots of walking trails. For decades the dumping of construction debris filled in the marshes and tide flats of the Albany Waterfront. In 1984 the dumping was stopped. It has since been turned into a park with art displays built by past residents. We enjoyed the beautiful views and a picnic lunch on the waterfront taking in the SF Skyline.

FROM DIANE SAVARD:
The New Year's Day Walk & Potluck is one of the most highly attended events of the year. This year we had 22 attendees. We shortened the hike by starting at Fort Point instead of the Marina Safeway and we cut out some mileage in the Presidio. We walked up to a viewpoint with picnic tables on Lincoln Avenue just below the National Cemetery for libations (about 1/2 way in the walk), then continued on through the Tunnel Tops and back to our cars at Fort Point. The weather was beautiful, and everyone had a wonderful time.

FROM DIANE SAVARD:
Our Christmas Day tradition is walking around the Lafayette Reservoir. We had beautiful weather and about 19 participants. The walk is a little over 3 miles. At the end, we gather for a celebration with snacks and champagne and say thanks for having such wonderful friends.

FROM Patricia Baran: Olive Grove site at Rankin Park, Martinez. The picnic was a great success! About 45 people attended. Of course, we toasted Rebecca.

FROM DIANE SAVARD:
25 people showed up on this beautiful Christmas Day walk at the Lafayette Reservoir, followed by a bountiful buffet and champagne toast.

FROM DIANE SAVARD:
A group of us got our 12,000+ steps in the Rockridge Hills. The walk has wonderful views of the SF Bay Area. It encompasses 22 staircases. It’s 3.96 miles long and has 1283 steps. It took us 2 1/2 hours to complete. Afterwards, we went to dinner at Peony Garden Restaurant at 1448 S. Main Street in Walnut Creek for a wonderful Chinese dinner.
